“A still - albeit blurry - photograph of Ty… Some believe that a photo captures the soul. If that is true, then Ty’s blurry being now inhabits the very circuits of your computer or smart phone device.”

What are Things? And why “Write” them?

Things are varied. In this context, “things” comes to mean anything that can be written. A postcard is things. An apology letter to a dear friend who became acquainted with said writer’s car bumper in what can only be described as a freak accident… is things. A song and a sign are things. A sign with the lyrics to a song on its signage is things. Ty has written 4 of the 5 things listed just now.

Ah yes, lists are also things.

Ty writes because he has one of those very loud mechanical keyboards that makes an incredibly satisfying sound when a sentence takes form.

He writes because he finds himself doing it without being told. He would likely still do it if he lived in a strange post-apocalypse where writing became outlawed. Maybe the overlords are slugs. Yeah that’s good, write that down.

Ty has been writing professionally for nearly 10 years. If he was a dog, that would be 70 years. And

“[t]here’s nothing in the rule-book that says a really old dog can’t write.”

- Air Bard: Shakespeare in the Bark
